    There was some apples on sale for 68 cents a lb. I grabbed the the right serving for a apple and payed like two dollars and something for like 8 or 10 apples. Even with grapefruits( the big ones). You only need to eat half of one for a serving. Thanks for the post. A lot of people would benefit from this. P.S: I love your channel, i get lots of good ideas to save money on food:)

    @Oreocremerocks ~ I LOVE the ‘use up the odds-n-ends’ recipes! They are the BEST of surprises! Nice tip for a healthy marinade in seconds.

    @Oreocremerocks ~ sounds yummy!!! On to part deux… (o:

  9. Oreocremerocks says:

    Part Deux: You know how things usually go, when you try to cook for one instead of the usual army, you find you have a little this or that, that’s not enough to use until you get to the next can and can combine them . Well I was feeling lazy one night, and I saw that little bit of juice concentrate mocking me from the freezer door. I pulled it and let it thaw to thick syrupy consistency, and brushed that and some spices on the chicken I was cooking that night. Instant 8hr marination in seconds=)

  10. Oreocremerocks says:

    Seeing the apples made me realize I forgot to share one of my favorite rice / juice tips. I scour the ads for that perfect sale and stock up on the frozen concentrates. Then if I find myself cooking for only one, I can make a single serving of rice, and use the concentrate to flavor it to taste, instead of making a full batch. TBC

    @Pippilly Hi Pip!
    Editing is the bane of my existance!! All I know how to do is chop off the front where I’m clearing my throat or talking to someone and chop off the end where I make the camera jiggle while I shut it off! (o:

    Sad skills I know.
    I’ll get better with time…I miss my son!

    I’ve been buying groceries for a long, long time and I had never thought of it as price per serving. I do weigh pre-packaged bags of produce occasionally, but now I will consider how many items are in the bag, too. Thanks!

    Thanks for the tip.

    The “an” apple bit was funny. I do the same thing nowadays. I never used to know the difference until I started studying the free onlie courseware from Purdue University. Were we taught that in grade school? If we were, I certainly forgot.

    Ooooh, now that’s a good tip! I have a lot of mouths to feed and it is just so much simpler to dole out a whole fruit than cut it up. I don’t mind the ‘no face’ videos. There are a few other people I subscribe to that do that and it doesn’t distract me at all. I’m baaaaad at setting up cameras too. :(

  19. Pippilly says:

    Great tip, thanks!

    If you don’t have a tripod, you can set your camera up on a table, or stack some books to get some height. Do you know how to edit?

    Nice to see a video from you = )

    Yes but this one goes to 11….

  23. MizzezJaxon says:

    Thanks for the tip! Every 5 pound bag of potatoes for example, arent always 5 pounds. some are 4.5, some are 5.5. I always weigh at the produce section.
