Bank of America $50 saving account promo SCAM!

One of my buddies on the interweb contacted me and told me about this wonderous scheme that BoA pulled on him. He signed up for a promo if he opened a savings account with an ATM card attached. To get this bonus you must deposit 5 into the account. He does this only to receive a letter 3 days later telling him that he’s “risky” and that they’re closing the account. Ok, he figures, and waits to receive a check in the mail refunding the 5 he deposited. My friend receives a check for — they pocked his remaining by claiming it covered the “research fee” used to conduct research on him being a shady character. The only thing shady about this guy is that he’s an immigrant (legal, of course!) with a green card and social security #! Dude has a decent FICO score and is in no way a true risk! What!!!! They stole from my friend for a dubious research fee! I am calling shananigans on that — BoA meet my friend in small claims court!

You missed the point is what me thinketh and not that you asked but that’s why our ass is grass, you know? We missed the point of it all and it’s another thing we have to keep watch. Encouraging the patience to wait is a good positive thing but that it happens at all points to this deregulation thing. They prosper and all due to The Politics In The English Language…you know, the play on the words, wording and the behind the scenes mentality concepts on the public…like a pounce!

What scum. I can’t set up an account anywhere because of a past bounced check, and banks like Mechanics Bank tell you that right up front before they allow you to set it up. So yeah, that was criminal on BofA’s part.

..Do you even know what a Ponzi scheme is? Because this has nothing to do with a Ponzi scheme. At all. Not even close.
